OUR HISTORY
Leah Gravis, the founder of Blue Line Signs, has quite a history in the Sign Industry. It started when she attended Western State College of Colorado in pursuit of a degree in Graphic Design. She went to school by day and worked at a local printing company in the evenings. There, she learned to work in the print industry with large offset presses, plating, bindery, and die-cutting. She graduated in 2002 with a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts and was passionate about arts and the boundless possibilities.
In 2003, she moved to San Diego and began working in the sign industry. There she was introduced to large format digital printing, vinyl, signs, banners, and wrapping. Working for two companies simultaneously, she was able to learn multiple perspectives of sign making from traditional paint, carpentry and sand blasting, to more modern vinyl applications. She moved to Oklahoma in 2006, where she worked for a small Broken Arrow sign shop, for the following 7 years until it dissolved.
She had acquired new knowledge about how art and signage worked together. With Leah’s artistic talents and her acquired knowledge of the sign industry, she dreamed of starting her own business. Although her savings would not allow, the single mother of two, to open a shop and buy new equipment, she was able to purchase a new computer and small plotter. Leah made space in her sunroom and garage and was able to open her business from her home. Her customer base was growing nicely via word of mouth through her first year anniversary.
By the second year, Leah had acquired an industrial sewing machine for stitching banners and a large custom work table. But she was quickly running into space issues. Growth was not going to be possible if she did not move into a commercial space. Then, with the help of friends and family, Leah moved into her own commercial space in December of 2014. The shop is currently located in the 6100 Center on 61st Street between Garnett & 129th in Broken Arrow.
Lack of space is no longer an issue in the current location. In fact, the larger space has permitted more growth. In March of 2015, they purchased a large format printer, laminator, and plotter. This gave them the opportunity to help other sign shops by providing wholesale pricing for those who need to outsource printing. Today Blue Line Signs strives in making quality eye-catching signs with great taste! Blue Line Signs can make anything from Business Cards, Signs, and Banners to Custom Decals, Printing, Advertising Products, Screen Printing, Murals, Engraving, and much more.
